The rain's still pouring down outside, and there were blizzards in Scotland last week; but this is no April Fool's joke.

With the promise of sunnier days to come, Unilever has today launched its annual pan-European promotion for Magnum Ice Cream.

Buyers of a Magnum in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Austria and Switzerland will find a unique code printed on the stick. Submitting that code via mobile or online will enter them into a daily Winning Moments draw for the chance to win a Sony Gold Vaio notebook or a Sony gold edition Cyber-shot camera.

Working closely with our friends at Lowe Rivet, Sponge's remit has gone well beyond Mobile. We've built the competition websites, and we're managing the promotional draw engine across both mobile and online. In addition to the above territories, we've also built the website for Portugal.

With approximately 100 million packs in distribution, this should do great things for Magnum sales.

Let's just hope it can do the same for the weather.
