// IKEA MOBILE APP BRINGS HOME CANNES CYBER LION

IKEA’s iPhone and iPod application, the 2010 IKEA Interactive Catalogue, has brought home a Cannes Cyber Lion – winning gold in the Mobile Advertising category.

Sponge’s partner company, Madrid-based Mobile Dreams Factory created the app. Both Sponge and Mobile Dreams Factory are part of the Mobile One Alliance, which is a network of leading independent mobile marketing agencies across Europe.

The IKEA app is free for consumers to download and users can test out some of the latest products at home virtually - enabling them to try before buying.

They can then use their mobile cameras to place a selected piece of furniture anywhere in their homes, see how it looks and take a snapshot. Users are also able to adjust the furniture size and move it around to get their chosen look.

IKEA’s Interactive Catalogue app has been downloaded more 200,000 times to date and can be found here
